Ms. Rickard, a recent arrival to St. Mary's County, joined St. Maries Musica in July 2010. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a minor in dance from Bucknell University. She continued her study at Westminster Choir College where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting.
At the University of Delaware, Ms. Rickard taught choral methods and conducting and supervised vocal student teachers at the secondary level. She also conducted the University Singers and co-directed Schola Cantorum. Before arriving at Delaware, Ms. Rickard taught choral music in the New Jersey Public School System for five years. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of musical arts in Music Education from Boston University.
Her vocal performance experience includes soprano roles in major choral works such as Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Monteverdi's Gloria and Faure's Requiem.
Ms. Rickard adjudicates at choral festivals and clinics in Delaware and surrounding states. She has also served as a presenter at conferences and choral reading sessions and has guest conducted honor choirs in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She traveled to Beijing in August 2010 to present on school and community music partnerships at the International Symposium for Music Education.
